HOFA PROJECTS

Education is the backbone for every civil economy and as HOFA Uganda, we focus our attention on empowering communities in Africa through sending the kids to school. We are currently responsible for sending .. children to school where we fully cater for their tuition fees and scholastic materials. We would love to appreciate our Swedish that has partnered with us to provide termly scholastic materials and school fees to the kids. Below is the insight of the Education system in Uganda.
At the age of 5, the kids go to Kindergarten (Nursery School), and later join Primary School for seven years. From here the kids graduate to Secondary level which involves four years in O’level and two years in A’level (high school). Students from this level join University or Institutions for a specialized course.
But as for now, all our children are in Nursery, Primary and a few in Secondary school. So school in all these levels except University is broken in 3 terms every year and each term runs for 3 months before a student is promoted to the next class.
SPONSOR A CHILD
You can send a child to school through a direct donation towards a specific school need or through a long term commitment as a personal donor to a specific child. For further information about our kids, check out the profiles under the children’s home menu.
A donation of $30 in 3 months can pay for the tuition of a child in Primary School and $180 for a student in secondary (High school).
HOFA Children's Home
HOFA is not simply about saving as many orphaned and vulnerable children as possible. It is also about raising them up to become future leaders who will bring sustainable change in their nation.
As we look to fulfill the vision to rescue as many children in Africa in a short period of time after full establishment of the shelter, there is a need to introduce a broader range of income streams to support operating costs.
HOFA targets building a complete self contained house to provide home for the kids. The projected building is spacious and will help the children find a permanent home.
The home has an elaborate infrastructure that must be developed before it is fully fit to call home. The requirements include access to water, landscaping, provision of septic systems and a framework for electricity.
The home is designed to have running water and a bathroom, which are rare in rural Africa. We are also investigating better ways of constructing it so that it is cost-effective, eco-friendly and sustainable for future development. Our goal is to create a fund for infrastructural expenditure to ensure that this home is built to full accomplishment.
Uganda’s fertile land and climate provides an excellent environment to develop self-sustainability through agricultural and livestock farming. This project will also provide an opportunity to establish a balanced diet and food security to the children’s home.
We are pursuing further land for this purpose and for livestock farming but we already have enough to start with. The farms will provide the children and mothers with opportunities to learn new skills, while at the same time helping the villages become self-sustainable with agricultural, meat, dairy and poultry products. Any surplus can then be sold to the market.
